Despite the familiarity of the word prevention, there is less research history in the field of twelve-step public institutions. Their creation in Iran dates back twenty-five years (and eighty years in the world) and they were initially active in the field of drug addiction and subsequently, with their growth over time, they have become active in other subjects as well. Their goal is to raise the point of self-reliance and reduce the feeling of being a victim. Many criminological concepts such as criminal self-destruction, the core of the criminal personality, etc. are being explained in them in simple language and with certain moral principles. In the current situation, many people have attracted the attention of various types of addiction for the purpose of recovery; as they are also mentioned in recent legislation (Prevention Law). <span lang="FA">از عناوین مورد توجه در جرم‌شناسی، پیشگیری است که به‌عنوان یکی از اجزای تشکیل‌دهنده مفهوم سیاست جنایی می‌تواند در دو حوزه نهادهای دولتی و مردمی تبیین گردد. علیرغم نام آشنا بودن واژه پیشگیری اما در حوزه نهادهای مردمی دوازده قدمی، سابقه تحقیقی کمتری وجود دارد. ایجاد آنها در ایران به سی سال (و در دنیا نود سال) قبل برمی‌گردد که ابتدا در حوزه اعتیاد به مواد و متعاقباً با رشد آنها در طی زمان</span><span lang="FA">٬</span><span lang="FA"> در سایر مصادیق نیز فعال گشته‌اند. هدفشان بالا بردن نقطه خود اتکایی و کاهش احساس قربانی بودن است. بسیاری مفاهیم جرم­شناختی مانند خودمحوی مجرمانه، هسته اصلی شخصیت جنایی و... در آنها با زبانی ساده و با اصول اخلاقی معینی در حال تشریح هستند. در وضعیت کنونی، ذهن افراد بسیاری را در انواع مختلف اعتیاد به‌منظور بهبودی به خود جلب کرده‌اند؛ طوری که در قانون‌نویسی‌های اخیر (قانون پیشگیری)‍‍‍ نیز مورد اشاره هستند.</span> https://www.jccj.ir/article_250309_635613280dce428b2b057cf12501b974.pdf
