Abstract
The ever-increasing growth of delinquency and the increase in the wave of crimes following the scientific and industrial developments and the growth of the phenomenon of urbanization, communication and transportation have made clear the inability of the criminal justice system to curb the wave of delinquency. This has necessitated the intervention of urban management activists, including municipalities, as the most important institution of this management in crime prevention. Because in preventing the occurrence of many crimes, urban spaces and the quality of the environment and the functioning of the municipality as a responsible institution can be an effective and determining factor. Urban plans and their implementation is the most important manifestation through which the municipality applies its urban management, on the basis of this, the investigation of the implementation of these plans and their pathology can be related to the knowledge of crime factors. cause and prevent it effectively. Therefore, in this article, we investigated the role of the municipality as the main pillar of urban management in crime prevention with the descriptive-analytical method and the collection of library information, and we found that municipalities prevent environmental crimes by closing or moving industries and factories. which have harmful pollutants outside the urban limits and also removing the danger from buildings and urban spaces with the approach of prevention through environmental design and although it is insufficient, but an effective step has been taken in the process of crime prevention, which we will explain this role in this article the payment
