Abstract
The examination and analysis of the criminal personality of perpetrators of sexual crimes against children follow a specific pattern worldwide. In all countries, various preventive measures are pursued to protect children. Accordingly, the aim of this research is to conduct a psychological analysis of perpetrators of sexual crimes against children, with a focus on therapeutic strategies within Islamic teachings. This article is written using a descriptive-analytical method and by utilizing credible research documents, scientific statements have been identified to answer the research question. The findings of the study are presented accordingly. Some disorders such as psychosis, low self-control and stubborn personality are related to high probability of committing sexual crimes. Sex offenders exhibit heterogeneous characteristics, but present with similar clinical problems or criminogenic needs. The typology of pedophiles shows that we are faced with different varieties, including A: "situational pedophiles" B: "psychological pedophiles" C: "experimental sexual pedophiles" T: "preferred harassers" and D: "saint pedophiles". This typology shows that we are not facing a fixed character in connection with sexual crimes against children. In this regard, two forms of sexual crimes against children are most likely to be committed, which include sexual abuse of children and child abuse. In Iran, the analysis of sexual offenders is often considered a psychological issue, as these offenders exhibit heterogeneous characteristics but manifest similar clinical problems or criminogenic needs. The typology of the criminal personality of perpetrators of sexual crimes against children reveals various categories, including: 1- Situational Pedophiles; 2- Psychologically, Driven Pedophiles; 3- Experimentally Sexual Pedophiles; 4- Preferential Sadistic Offenders; 5- “Saintly” Pedophiles. This classification indicates that there is no fixed personality type associated with sexual crimes against children. In this context, two main forms of sexual crimes against children are the most likely to occur: Child sexual abuse and child maltreatment. Some studies conducted in Islamic countries have examined and analyzed therapeutic strategies for sexual offenders within the framework of Islamic teachings.
