Today, many workers in the workplace experience verbal violence that may be consistent with one of the crimes or that may not be criminally charged. Given the importance of the issue and the frequency of cases, the current article seeks to answer this question: What approach do international law rules and domestic legal systems have towards verbal violence against workers in workshops? In order to answer this question, the current article examines the issue using a descriptive and analytical method, based on library studies, and with a comparative look at the rules of the International Labor Organization and domestic legal systems. The findings of this article indicate that there are numerous legal deficiencies in the Iranian legal system in the field of protecting workers against verbal violence. On the one hand, the general rules contained in the criminal laws are not sufficient to protect workers who are victims of verbal violence, and on the other hand, the Iranian legislative system has not taken advantage of the documents of international organizations and common law legal systems that are leading in this field. Therefore, in order to improve the system of protecting workers who are victims of violence, it is necessary for Iran to accede to Convention No. 190 of the International Labor Organization and to adopt specific regulations.
